On 2 Aug 17 Summers Motor Sales Inc., 1000 Pike Street, Marietta, reported receiving a bad check at the business. This case remains under investigation. (597)
On 2 Aug 17 Sgt. Johnson was dispatched to Salem Township in reference to a report of domestic violence. Upon speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded. Case closed.
On 2 Aug 17 Deputies were dispatched to Barlow Township in reference to a female being assaulted. Deputies spoke with a subject who stated his niece, Danielle Long, showed up at his residence complaining of being assaulted by her father and step-brother. An attempt to speak with Danielle met with negative results as she was not coherent enough to carry on a conversation. The Barlow Volunteer Fire Department EMS arrived on scene as well. Deputies located Daniel Long, 1813 Reese Road, Fleming, who stated that he caught Danielle in several lies. Daniel states once Danielle was confronted about her lies, she became extremely agitated and flew into a fit of rage, punching Daniel in the neck and shoving him around both inside and outside of the residence. Daniel did have a small red mark on the right side of his neck from where he said Danielle punched him. Daniel’s story was later independently corroborated by his wife and stepson. Deputies then responded to MMH Belpre Campus to meet with Danielle. Danielle denied ever striking her father, but stated that he struck her, adding that there was an argument between her and her father. Danielle Nicole Long, age 28, 1813 Reese Road, Fleming, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing. (126)

Dustin Atkinson, 820 Belrock Avenue, Belpre, for failure to appear.
Mitchell Erb, 811 Pioneer Community Road, St. Mary’s, WV, for criminal trespassing.
Nicholas Patterson, 1110 Hocking Road, Apt. C, Belpre, for failure to appear, 3 warrants.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Wednesday 2 Aug 17 and Thursday 3 Aug 17:
Aaron Matthew Hess, age 38, 610 Warren Street, Marietta, for probation violation and criminal trespass, both misdemeanors. Hess was picked up at the Fairfield County Jail by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 17 at 6:05 pm.
Patrick Dean Worstell, age 32, 320 Browns Road, Marietta, OH, for auto theft and probation violation, both felonies. Worstell was picked up at the Fairfield County Jail by Deputy Stackpole of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 17 at 6:47 pm.
Zachary Ryan Hanson, age 18, 2295 Odessa Drive, Zanesville, OH, for possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Hanson was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Campbell of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 17 at 9:23 pm.
Brandon Lee Loy, age 21, 3829 Independence Road, Cleveland, OH, for criminal trespass, a misdemeanor. Loy was arrested in Marietta by Trooper Quattlebaum of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 17 at 11:22 pm.
Danielle Nicole Long, age 28, 1813 Reese Road, Fleming, OH, for domestic violence and probation violation, both misdemeanors. Long was arrested at her residence by Lt. Hunter of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 17 at 12:07 am.
There are currently 17 females and 95 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
