On 16 Jul 17 Joseph R. Kidd, Lower Salem, reported a break in at a business on State Route 550 that he operates. This case remains under investigation. (1504)
On 17 Jul 17 Deputy Carr responded to Marietta Township in reference to subjects firing a gun in the direction of residences. This case remains under investigation.
On 17 Jul 17 Deputy A. McConnell responded to White Oak Dental, Barlow, in reference to a female in a vehicle at that location. Deputy McConnell found Nicole R. McCutcheon passed out in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. A knock on the window woke McCutcheon who stated she was using the Wi-Fi at the dental office and fell asleep waiting for her husband to get off work. McCutcheon’s pupils were constricted and she appeared to be unsteady on her feet. A permission to search the vehicle was obtained in which a used syringe and a spoon, with suspected drug residue, were found in McCutcheon’s belongings. McCutcheon was asked when the last time was she used, and she advised earlier that morning, further advising the residue on the spoon was Sub Oxone. McCutcheon stated she did not have a prescription for the Sub Oxone, and that the syringe and spoon belonged to her. Nicole Renee McCutcheon, age 39, 150 Barrett South Road, Vincent, was arrested for drug instrument possession and drug possession and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 17 Jul 17 Chad W. Hall, 3579 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, reported items removed from a residence on Cornerville Road, to include furniture, Coleman tent, and microwave. This case remains under investigation. (1007)
On 17 Jul 17 Deputy A. McConnell along with the Reno Volunteer Fire Department Squad responded to an UTZ accident. Stephen P. Hostetler, Beach City, Ohio, was riding his UTZ when he was ejected. Medical attention was given to Hostetler. This case remains under investigation.
On 17 Jul 17 Deputy Johnson responded to 1902 Way Road, Belpre, to a report of domestic violence. Deputy Johnson met with Brittany Fortney who explained her husband, Joshua Fortney, had struck her head against the wall during an argument. Brittany further explained the argument continued into the kitchen where Joshua hit her hand on the ground causing it to be scratched and swell. Brittany explained multiple times during the conversation she did not call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and she did not want to get Joshua in trouble. Deputy Johnson spoke with Joshua, who briefly remembers Brittany coming into the bedroom causing a scene and believes she may have accidentally hit her face. Brittany had an open wound on the bridge of her nose, swelling to her nose and above her eye. She also had scratches and swelling to her hand, near the first knuckle. Joshua Wade Fortney, age 32, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on a charge of domestic violence.
On 18 Jul 17 Deputy Johnson responded to Belpre Township in reference to a report of domestic violence. Upon speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded. Case closed.
On 18 Jul 17 Deputy Johnson responded to Dunham Township in reference to a report of domestic violence. Upon speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded. Case closed.
On 19 Jul 17 Sgt. Johnson was advised of an active warrant (receiving stolen goods) out of Conway, SC, for Mark Robert Ullom, age 40, 7540 Hickory Road, Oakwood Village, OH, a current inmate at the Washington County Jail. The descriptive information was checked against Ullom’s book in records, finding the wanted individual to be Ullom. Ullom was charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Gordon F. Reneau, 667 Gates Run Road, Rockport, WV, for probation violation; original charge domestic violence.
Jessie J. Bell, 4220 Welch Road, Little Hocking, OH, for failure to appear; original charge illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.
Van G. Barrows, Rt 2, Box 26, Beverly, WV, for probation violation; original charge drug paraphernalia.
The following individual was recently sentenced in Washington County Common Pleas Court:
Matthew Richard Jett, age 32, 312 Third Street, Lowell, 5th-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs; 60 days county jail.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Tuesday 18 Jul 17 and Wednesday 19 Jul 17:
Angela Hope Hahn, age 39, 609 O’Neal Street, Belpre, for probation violation, a misdemeanor. Hahn was arrested by Probation Officer E. Brockmeier of the Marietta City Probation Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Jul 17 at 1:53 pm.
Megan Elizabeth Gilliam, age 29, 4512 North SR 376 NW, McConnelsville, OH, for probation violation and receiving stolen property, both misdemeanors. Gilliam was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Dennison of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Jul 17 at 3:10 pm.
Krystal Kay Carpenter, age 37, on a warrant for contempt of court order, a felony. Carpenter was picked up at the Central Regional Jail by Deputy H. Tornes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Jul 17 1:15 pm.
George Alexander Lattea, age 19, 125 Dean Street, Marietta, on a warrant for probation violation, a misdemeanor. Lattea was arrested by Probation Officer P. Brockmeier of the Marietta City Probation Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Jul 17 at 3:00 pm.
Eric Dean Barth, age 20, 307 Maple Street, Marietta, for probation violation, a misdemeanor. Barth was arrested on Virginia Street by Probation Officer E. Brockmeier of the Marietta City Probation Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Jul 17 at 7:42 pm.
Joshua Shane McHenry, age 38, 37 Morris Loop Road, Marietta, for FRA suspension, a misdemeanor. McHenry was arrested at his residence by Deputy A. McConnell of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Jul 17 at 9:05 pm.
There are currently 22 females and 92 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
