On 20 Jun 17 Deputy Johnson received information that Trey Moats was just seen putting license plates on a Ford Mustang which did not belong on the vehicle. The plates were reportedly taken off a Honda.  The vehicle was found parked at the Par Mar, 4796 State Route 60, Marietta, Ohio.  A check on the plates revealed they were registered to Makayla McAtee on a Honda.  Contact was made with Trey Moats and Makayla McAtee, when they exited the store. Moats explained the vehicle belonged to him and the plates, which were currently on the vehicle, do not belong on the vehicle.  Moats advised he had purchased the vehicle approximately 1 month ago, but could not produce any documentation for the vehicle.  Moats has never had plates on the vehicle during his owning the vehicle due to his license being suspended.  McAtee explained she had driven the vehicle to the gas station, however video footage showed Moats was driving the vehicle from State Route 60 onto the parking lot, contradicting McAtee’s story.  Trey NMN Moats, age 24, 133 Ohio Boulevard, Marietta, was issued a citation for driving under non-compliance suspension and fictitious plates.  A summons was requested through Marietta Municipal Court for Makayla Christine McAtee, age 20, 133 Ohio Boulevard, Marietta, for obstructing official business.
