On 10 Jun 17 Deputy Metts began an investigation in Fairfield Township in reference to a resident being scammed out several thousand dollars. This case remains under investigation.
On 10 Jun 17 Deputies were dispatched to New Matamoras after Marsha Smith, 1255 Leith Run Road, New Matamoras, called stating her son, Brian McKinney, was intoxicated and destroying things inside the home. Deputies met with Marsha Smith and she advised that Brian had been drinking alcohol all day and became angry because she told him to stay home when she left for the store. Marsha stated she was going to Newport and Brian wanted to go with her. Brian then began threatening Marsha, saying he was going to shoot her in the head and hit her. Brian’s comments placed Marsha in fear for her safety. Items inside the home were observed to be destroyed and some thrown in a fire pit, as well as food dumped out in the yard. Brian Keith McKinney, age 31, was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested .032 on the portable breathalyzer. Marsha Smith declined a protection order be issued out of this incident.
On 11 Jun 17 Deputies responded to Hoover Road, Vincent, regarding an altercation at that location. The homeowner, John Bonnette, met with Deputies and advised he was asleep when Amy L. Heiss entered the bedroom and began hitting, slapping, and scratching him. Bonnette reported he was eventually able to get Heiss out the door going into the garage, shoving her to avoid her attacking him any further, in which she fell backwards and hit her head. Scratches were observed on Bonnette’s person which were consistent with what he stated had occurred. Deputies then responded to Belpre Campus of Marietta Memorial Hospital, as Heiss had been transported for treatment. Amy Louise Heiss, age 38, 7400 Orndoff Road, Stockport, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 11 Jun 17 Deputies responded to Salem Township in reference to a domestic incident. Upon speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded. Case closed.
On 11 Jun 17 William J. Zink, 150 Camelot Road, Lot 40, Belpre, reported a trailer missing from the 300 block of Camelot Road. This trailer contained approximately $8000 worth of house/personal belongings. This case remains under investigation. (799)
On 11 Jun 17 Deputies responded to Decatur Township in reference to a possible assault. Upon speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded. Case closed. (1007)
On 12 Jun 17 Deputy Hall was patrolling in Dunham Township and was advised that an Ashley Daugherty, age 18, 206 ½ Vine Street, Marietta, had operated a motor vehicle on a suspended license as well as not having a child properly restrained in a child restraint seat. In speaking with Daugherty she advised that she did have her child in a proper car seat and had driven to this location to obtain one. A citation for driving under suspension and violation of a child restraint system.

Dustin T. Marcum, 102 Maher Street, Apt. B, St. Clairsville, OH, for failure to appear for a change of plea hearing, original charge possession of paraphernalia.
Dustin T. Marcum, 102 Maher Street, Apt. B, St. Clairsville, OH, for failure to appear for a change of plea hearing, original charge OVI.
Athena M. Meyrili, 12089 Park Avenue, Room 15, New Matamoras, for aggravated menacing.
Michael A. Wallace, 105 Leland Avenue, Marietta, for theft.
The following subjects were recently sentenced in Washington County Common Pleas Court:
Asia Danielle Peterson, age 27, 11 Hickory Road, Eason, PA, 4th degree felony breach of recognizance, and 3rd degree felony trafficking in drugs; 240 consecutive days, county jail.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Monday 12 Jun 17 and Tuesday 13 Jun 17:
Jennifer Marie Queen, age 38, 6697 State Route 55, Little Hocking, for parking violation, a misdemeanor. Queen was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Tornes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 June 17 at 1:59 pm.
Richard Wayne Farnsworth, age 56, 761 Buckeye Avenue, Marietta, for felonious assault, a felony. Farnsworth was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 June 17 at 3:29 pm.
Michael Steven Stewart, age 40, 2301 Pride Avenue, Bridgeport, WV, for OVI and drug abuse, both misdemeanors. Stewart was arrested by Sgt. Holbert of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 June 17 at 12:34 am.
There are currently 18 female and 64 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
