On 6 Jun 17 Deputy A. McConnell began an investigation into Tunnel Mini Storage being entered and items taken. This case remains under investigation.
On 7 Jun 17 Kenneth Walters, 307 Third Street, Lowell, reported solar lights removed from his property. This case remains under investigation. (1504)
On 8 Jun 17 Deputies responded to 1420 Milner Road, Waterford in reference to Jerry Ball reporting a domestic incident between him and his son, Dalton M. Ball. Deputies began the investigation finding that Ball and his wife had stopped their vehicle in front of 5700 Buchanan Road and Jerry began to yell at Dalton, who was in the yard. Deputies were advised that Jerry was calling Dalton derogatory names and asking when he was “going to get a job”. Further noted was that Dalton approached the driver side door to speak with Jerry and Ashley, when Jerry lunged over Ashley (the driver) and attempted to strike Dalton. Jerry then left the area after making more derogatory comments. A short time later Dalton left to return home, however while en route he noticed his father at a local convenience store. Dalton stopped at the store and confronted his dad, pushing him. Dalton and Jerry began a physical altercation until separated by Ashley Ball. When interviewed Jerry denied attempting to strike Dalton while in the vehicle, even though witnesses had viewed this. Dalton admitted to the confrontation at the gas station. Dalton Matthew Ball, age 19, 571 Swift Road, Waterford, and Jerry E. Ball, age 61, 1420 Milner Road, Waterford, were both placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 9 Jun 17 Deputy Hall responded to the Washington County Jail to begin an investigation into conveyance into the jail. Paige Mackenize Plotts, age 25, 119 Mill Street, Parsons, WV, had been waiting in a holding cell and requested feminine hygiene items and was supplied those items. During the early morning hours Sgt. Lee was made aware of subjects en route to the jail who would need to be held in a holding cell, therefore he began the process of moving Plotts. Sgt. Lee began to clean and inspect the holding cell where Plotts had been waiting and located a lighter wrapped in a feminine hygiene paper. Plotts denied the item was hers. Charges for conveying into a detention facility were filed on Plotts.
On 9 Jun 17 Deputy Parks began an investigation into an 84 year old male walking away from his home. The subject was located in the city limits of Marietta and found to be safe and unharmed. This case will be marked closed.
On 9 Jun 17 Deputy Black responded to Muskingum Township to a possible domestic violence incident. Upon speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded. Case closed.
On 9 Jun 17 Deputy Farrell received a capias from the Commonwealth of Virginia for felony probation violation, for the arrest of Donald Ray Watson, age 35, PO Box 383, Junior, WV. Personal information was verified, matching that of Watson who was a Washington County Inmate. Fugitive from justice charges were then filed on Watson.
On 10 Jun 17 Deputy Parks responded to 683 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, and attempted to serve an arrest warrant on David W. Wriston. Deputy Parks encountered a female, later identified as Jassandra C. Johnston, and asked if Wriston was at home. Johnston advised he was not, and refused to allow Deputy Parks to search the residence. Due to the actions of Johnston, it was believed that Wriston was inside the home. Deputy Parks make contact with her supervisors and with backup returned to the home and was able to locate Wriston in the kitchen of the residence. Jassandra Collette Johnston, age 36, was placed under arrest for obstructing official business and was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing. During the contact with Wriston he was advised there was a warrant for his arrest in which he refused to comply with the orders of Deputies. Wriston failed to comply with multiple orders of this nature, and became engaged in a physical altercation with the Deputies on scene. During the course of the physical altercation a Deputy’s prescription eyeglasses were knocked off, landing on the concrete step causing several non-repairable gouges to the lenses. Deputies further attempted to place Wriston in the rear of the cruiser in which he leaned back in the seat and began to kick both feet, ultimately connecting to the arm of Deputy Black, leaving a shoe print on Deputy Black’s uniform, as well as connecting with Deputy Black’s cheek area, leaving a red mark corresponding with the pattern of Wriston’s shoe. David Wayne Wriston, age 32, was arrested for assault on a police officer, criminal damaging and resisting arrest, and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

Andrew George Pittner, age 76, 1214 Farson Street, Belpre, for tampering with evidence, a felony. Pittner was arrested at his residence by Lt. Hornbeck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 June 17 at 2:50 pm.
Delaney Claudine Thomas, age 20, 74 East State Street, Athens, for OVI and speed, both misdemeanors. Thomas was arrested by Trooper Rogers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 June 17 at 9:23 am.
Barbara Ann Ketterman, age 37, 108 Colonial Square, Belpre, for theft, possession of drug instruments, criminal trespass, and drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Ketterman was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman McElroy of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jun 17 at 2:34 pm.
David Wayne Wriston, age 32, 683 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, for domestic violence, assault, possession of drug instruments, criminal damaging, and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors. Wriston was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 June 17 at 5:47 pm.
Jassandra Collet Johnston, age 36, 683 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, for obstructing official business and criminal damaging, both misdemeanors. Johnston was arrested in Marietta by Sgt. Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 June 17 at 7:07 pm.
Brian Keith McKinney, age 31, 1255 Leith Run Road, New Matamoras, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. McKinney was arrested by Deputy McConnell of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 June 17 at 11:34 pm.
Jeremy Wade Carpenter, age 32, 804 Font Street, Marietta, for domestic violence, a felony. Carpenter was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Ritchie of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 June 17 at 2:54 am.
Amy Louise Heiss, age 38, 7400 Orndoff Road, Stockport, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Heiss was arrested by Deputy Schwendeman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 June 17 at 6:08 am.
Kevin Paul Antill, age 45, 3485 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, for probation violation, a felony. Antill was arrested be Deputy Gerber of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 June 17 at 9:12 am.
There are currently 18 female and 60 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
