On 6 Jun 17 Sgt. Mankins was travelling on Tittle Run Road, Lawrence Township when he observed a truck parked in the roadway.  Sgt. Mankins stopped to render assistance if needed and found the driver to be Larry Hasley and the passenger, Corey Smearman.  Smearman appeared to be moving in the vehicle like he would if he was trying to hide something.  Smearman and Hasley were asked to exit the vehicle in which they did.  Dispatch advised that Hasley had four outstanding warrants for his arrest, at which time Hasley was placed under arrest on those warrants and placed in the patrol vehicle.  Consent to search of Hasley’s vehicle was requested and given.  Earlier when Hasley exited the vehicle a pill was observed on the driver’s seat, which appeared to be Clonazepam.  Hasley advised he had gotten 2 of these pills yesterday and had one left.  Hasley also stated he has no prescription for those.  Also located were several insulin needles in Hasley’s belongings.   A black zippered bag on the floor where Smearman would have had his feet, was found to contain suspected meth.   Also in a plastic bag were other pills.  The pills were positively later identified as Clonazepam and the suspected meth was later field tested with a positive result for meth.  Larry Randolph Hasley, age 38, 101 Putnam Street, Marietta, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and tampering with drugs.   Corey Lee Smearman, age 28, 570 Albright Road, Beverly, was placed under arrest for tampering with drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drugs (meth).  Smearman and Hasley were transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

On 7 Jun 17 Deputy Black responded to 110 Belaire Drive, Marietta, to a male operating a vehicle which had struck a mailbox.  The driver, Troy Lightfritz was operating the vehicle with a suspended operator’s license.  A citation was issued to Lightfritz of 995 Mitchell Lane, Marietta, for driving on a suspended license.
